  • Amazing experience in Feb. 2020! We stumbled upon Octo unplanned and were so grateful that we did! We were seated on the second floor at a lovely table for two. Located next to the well known Bruna restaurant, Octo has beautiful architecture, design elements, and lighting features throughout. From the menu, we chose the crab hamburger, octopus plate, tuna tostada, and arroz con leche - highly recommend all four! The service was exceptional and each staff we interacted with were friendly, attentive, while giving us our privacy while we enjoyed our meal. Receiving the factura via a QR code on the physical receipt took less than 3 minutes which was a refreshing surprise as oftentimes restaurants in Mexico have a clunky process that requires you to email the venue after you complete the meal. We loved Octo! The staff clothing was hip and good looking, too. Highly recommend :)

  • The ambience of this restaurant ranks at the top of any I have visited. It is a work of art, beautifully designed with the hexagon (not octagon ?!?) being the motif that is carried through everywhere. This was a special occasion with us connecting with old friends in town who were celebrating the end of difficult year. Service was confused from the beginning--two of us (out of 6) came early and were seated with menus, but when the others were seated we did not get more menus and had to share. A lovely welcome dish of salmon spread and toast was shared and they were careful to bring a separate carpaccio of tomatoes for a lactose intolerant guest in our party. The first page of the menu were cocktails, and they do great with their mixology. One of us ordered a Zacate Limon and after trying his, others made the same order. Starters for the table included a lovely carpaccio de pescado, and an aguachile de heirloom tomate --both of which were great. But one of us ordered the Ensalada del Huerto which is basically the same thing as the aguachile with a different dressing. I might have had the server say that this is very similar to the starter to give the nudge that we might want to choose something else. The star of the meal was the mussels dish (Mejillones al Vino Blanco). They were well sized and in a perfect sauce--and made a great entree for the guy across from me. He gifted me one and I would have stolen more if I could have reached over the table. I also stole fries from my neighbor who got the Fish and Chips. Their french fries were perfect 10/10. My order of the Pasta Fresca al pesto was gorgeously presented and had a perfect pasta, but the pesto was rather plain. Maybe this is the safe dish for children? Camarones Zaradeados came with a great presentation along with very good taste. We would recommend this. The cheese plate for dessert was perfect, but this is a plate for 4+ people (all from sheep or goat, so low lactose!) and came with bread kept in its own little pouch. I would recommend this if you have 4+ in your party.

  • This is a must visit restaurant in Guadalajara. From the moment that you walk in, you are greeted by beautiful ambiance and their amazing staff. They have quite a wine and mixology service. Do yourself a favor and order a drink to get you started. The appetizers are of great portion. Now the dinner. Wow.so much flavor and cooked to perfection. The staff was sure to pay attention to the details and, at the end of the dinner, served us an anniversary dessert. We will definitely be returning on put next trip.

  • One of the best places architecturally speaking in Guadalajara, and the good thing is the food is also really good. Mainly seafood platters, that are good for sharing. Great for dates, business dinner or a night to catch up with friends.
